MHI’s parent company, Manitoba Hydro, provides natural gas to over 264,000 customers and electricity to over 532,000 customers.
It has annual revenues of $1.9 billion and assets totaling $12.3 billion, and operates and maintains over 18,000 kms of natural gas distribution mains and service lines.
The system is comprised of coated steel and polyethylene lines ranging in size from 12 mm to 400 mm and operating pressures up to 5,000 kpa.
Manitoba Hydro delivers over 2.17 billion cubic meters of natural gas on an annual basis and has approximately 550 employees engaged in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the gas distribution system.
As a fully vertically integrated utility with over 6200 employees, Manitoba Hydro has expertise in every facet of the energy industry and has the experience of more than 130 years of operations.
