Canadian Gas Services International (CGSI)
is an initiative between Encor International Incorporated (“Encor”) and Manitoba Hydro International Ltd ("MHI") and operates as a division of MHI.  With this structure, CGSI is able to draw on the vast range of experience provided by both MHI and Encor.   As a division of MHI, CGSI also benefits from being a part of a wholly owned subsidiary of Manitoba Hydro, one of North America's most efficiently operated electric and natural gas utilities with over 6100 employees and assets in excess of CAD $12.3 billion

 

CGSI offers its clients multi-disciplinary project teams with extensive international experience drawing on the expertise gained from a vast project history.  The CGSI management team has successfully completed over 150 energy projects in more than 60 countries worldwide since 1993.  CGSI’s management and project personnel are experienced in all facets of international gas project management, engineering, and operations.

Encor International Inc. is a Canadian company specializing in the provision of consulting and infrastructure development services to the natural gas distribution and transmission sectors.  Encor was founded by the former Managing Director & senior managers of Terasen International Inc. (formerly BC Gas International), the international consulting arm of Terasen Inc. (formerly BC Gas Inc.), one of Canada’s largest gas utilities.  Encor’s management team and project personnel have successfully completed over 75 natural gas, LPG, and CNG projects in 20 countries since 1993.

 

Manitoba Hydro International Ltd. (MHI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Manitoba Hydro.  For the past 25 years MHI has been providing consulting, training, engineering, and operations management services for all power system infrastructure and utility operations.  Through its extensive project history, MHI has gained significant experience in addressing the growing demand for utility infrastructure in developing nations, including significant experience in the formation of regulations and tariffs for the electricity and downstream petroleum sectors.  MHI has provided utility infrastructure management, consulting, and training services to over 60 countries worldwide.

MHI’s parent company, Manitoba Hydro, is a Provincial Crown Corporation owned by the government of Manitoba, providing electricity to over 521,000 customers and natural gas to over 261,000 customers. Manitoba Hydro operates 19 hydraulic and thermal generating stations with a total capacity of 5,475 MW.  It has annual revenues of CAD $2.25 billion and assets totalling CAD $12.3 billion, and operates and maintains over 18,000 kms of natural gas distribution mains and service lines.  The system is comprised of coated steel and polyethylene lines ranging in size from 12 mm to 400 mm and operating pressures up to 5,000 kpa.  Manitoba Hydro delivers over 2.17 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually; Residential – 647 106 m³, Commercial/Industrial – 891 106 m³, Transportation – 618 106 m³.
